WE REVEAL THE FIRST FOUR PROJECTS OF THE 21st PRAGUE GOTHIC TREFFEN (and the tickets)

The twentieth anniversary of Prague Gothic Treffen seemed like an almost unbelievable milestone, and now here we are, looking forward to the start of the third decade together with you.

This year's edition was particularly important for us. We tried to make it as perfect as possible, looked forward to it together with you, and were amazed at how quickly you snapped up the tickets... A month before the event, it was already difficult to get a ticket. And that was at a time when the boat that was supposed to get you in the goth mood before the start of PGT was also hopelessly full, a mood that we hope has not left you yet. Nevertheless, the whole weekend flew by like the wind at both club twins, you fled to your homes, the musicians set off for their next gig, and all we can do is preserve the most important things –  experiences and memories.

Anyway, enough nostalgia. There is another challenge ahead. Our event is blossoming into beauty, and it's up to us to work together to make it a mature and soulful beauty in every way. The twenty-first year is approaching, and we want to introduce you, as is becoming a tradition, to the first four names that you might have seen on the poster for the next PGT at the clubs.

The first guests for next year's festival will be Majo Polyak and Radmila Svensson, who will arrive from our closest neighbors to present their unconventional and distinctive approach to electronic music, which lies somewhere between dark electronica and art pop. Their first collaboration dates back ten years, but they released their first joint album, Neverending Story, in 2023. Since then, the duo has released several other interesting singles, and on one of their more recent ones, they collaborated again with Paulína Feriancová, with whom they also recorded their debut album. As one of the most interesting projects on our compilation Dark Tunes from Czech and Slovak Caves vol. IV, they will also have the opportunity to show what they can do to the Prague Gothic Treffen audience.

Majo Polyak - Chained ft. Radmila Svensson

The band Estetica Noir will be coming to us from Turin, Italy. This quartet builds its music on a foundation of darkwave and will definitely have the ambition to get everyone in the club dancing. Their studio journey began in 2016, which saw the release of their eponymous six-track EP, followed by their debut full-length album, "Purity", later that same year. This was followed by a hiatus, which the gentlemen ended in 2022 with their second album, "This Dream in Monochrome", after which they were noticed by the established label Swiss Dark Nights, which helped create their latest recording, "Amor Fati". Released last year, the band figuratively immersed themselves in the inevitable process of aging, which they view from many angles. In addition to darkwave, the gentlemen like to look back at 80s art rock and 90s industrial, which is logically reflected in their work.

Estetica Noir - Sweeper

The Swiss band Lone Assembly is slowly but surely conquering the current dark music scene, skillfully mixing new wave, synthpop, and melancholic post-punk in catchy and melodious tracks that grab listeners right away. Since their first single, each subsequent recording has been accompanied by tasteful visuals, and one would think that these gentlemen have a much longer history behind them. Their most notable release is this year's album "That Never Happened," which revolves around themes of losing a loved one, denial, fear of being alone with oneself, and childhood. You will have the opportunity to experience this delicate and soulful affair firsthand with us, and rest assured that it will be a powerful and captivating experience.

Lone Assembly - In the Open

The fourth and most prominent name is definitely gothic rock classics The Danse Society. The band from Barnsley, England, has been on the scene for some forty-five years and will bring to Prague an authentic legacy of the purest that the dark guitar scene has to offer. After three albums in the 1980s ("Seduction" in 1982, "Heaven is Waiting" in 1984, and "Looking Through" in 1986), the band took a break after their initial success, only to reunite in 2009 and get back to work. In 2011, the new album "Change of Skin" was completed. Since then, the band has been active and, despite personnel changes, has regularly released new albums, including the retrospective collection "40 Years Of Danse A-Z & Extende". The latest, eighth studio album, "The Loop," was released in 2024, and we are rightly curious to see what the band, which has its roots deeply embedded in the post-punk and gothic rock past, but at the same time is still capable of presenting new material that shows maturity, musical skill, and perspective, will perform for us.

The Danse Society - Somewhere

So, these are the first four projects we have in store for you next year, and all of them will be performing in our country for the very first time, which is another debt repaid by the goth scene in our country, especially in the case of The Danse Society. We are already looking forward to revealing more bands and other surprises.

The anniversary is definitely not the end, we are moving forward and we are not stopping!

Today we are also launching ticket presales. A limited number of "Early Birds" tickets at the lowest presale price of CZK 990 (+ network fees) are now available exclusively at GoOut. We look forward to seeing you there!
