XX. PRAGUE GOTHIC TREFFEN PRESENTS MORE CONFIRMED NAMES

The jubilee edition of the Prague Gothic Meeting is taking shape.

You may have thought that the Prague Gothic Treffen is suspiciously quiet. But the opposite is true - intensive preparations are going on behind the scenes, and dozens of emails are flying through the air to arrange everything you need to feel comfortable at the event. And, of course, we are also very busy working out the line-up of the artists who will be performing in Prague on 29 and 30 August 2025.

Even this year, the venue of PGT takes place in two clubs Fuchs2 and Bike Jesus, located in one building on the island of Štvanice. This place has a huge advantage not only because of its location near the city centre and easy access to public transport but also because it is sufficiently isolated from the outside world. Last year's edition fully showed the advantages of its outside chill-out zone in front of the Bike Jesus club, which served perfectly for a meeting, getting to know each other and communicating - exactly what we expect from PGT.

This time, we are preparing a new edition of merchandise for you. In addition to the regular assortment, we will offer strictly limited editions of several special items related to the theme of this year's 20th anniversary. You will find out the final design well in advance of the event.

We also pay great attention to the accompanying programme and other details so that you have a reason to come back to PGT.

So far, we've introduced you to four names from this year's PGT line-up: the Belgian EBM/dark electro outfit Mildreda, Scottish multi-genre sensation Kill Shelter, Greek electro/darkwave duo Kalte Nacht and Swiss synth hitmakers Blackbook. Today, we're throwing in another four names that we're excited about because we can say with certainty that each of them guarantees an excellent concert. Let's do this!

The Italian gothic scene will be represented this time by the Roman foursome Date at Midnight. Formed in 2007, the band quickly built a reputation within their home city, making them the first Italian act to be signed to the respected Manic Depression Records label. Today, they have released two EPs and three full-length albums, enriching their traditional goth/post-punk sound with darkwave-tinged synths over the years. Last year's current record, "Fading Into This Grace", was an extra hit in the dark, and the energetic tracks tempt you to dance in the hazy gloom. Will you be tempted, too?

Agnieszka Leśna is no newcomer to the music scene. She has already shown her vocal qualities in the past as the frontwoman of Red Storm and Desdemona. For her solo project, she chose the Nordic translation of her first name and under the name Agnis she produces driving dark electro/synthpop, which she calls witchpop. She has released five singles and a debut album on the darkTunes label in a few years and can mesmerise in concert with her excellent voice and visually striking performance. Don't miss her premiere Czech performance.

Berlin-based quintet Bleib Modern have been on the scene for a decade, having released five albums plus a decent number of singles and EPs. The hard-working five-piece grasped in a unique combination of post-punk and coldwave that earned them legions of devoted fans and frequent touring throughout Europe. Bleib Modern will be heading to Prague with last year's eponymous album, and we might even see some new tracks. We look forward to reaffirming their concert qualities.

Also, this year's PGT will not be deprived of a showcase of the Swedish musical hatchery. And it won't be just any showcase! The composer and producer duo Anders Hagström and Tea F. Thimé, known to the music world as Ashbury Heights, will come for the very first time to the Czech Republic. The band was formed in 2005 and has many synthpop blasting hits that are sure to get any sized audience moving. What's more, the band returned last year after an extended hiatus with some damn strong long-playing material and, much to the delight of fans, also took to the concert stage.

Our colleague Pavel Zelinka summed up their performance at last year's WGT as follows:
"What blew me away was the intensity of their stage presence, along with the brilliant vocal and, in the case of the thundering guitarist/keyboardist, instrumental performances of the trio. Add to that the load of heavy hitters that the project possesses, and the result is a euphoric hour-long party that is enjoyed to the fullest by fans and the musicians themselves." Doesn't that sound like the best invitation ever?

Have you found your irons in the fire in the list of confirmed names? Or not yet? Don't worry! We're only halfway through and will soon present the next acts you can meet in Prague on the last weekend of August! All you have to do is buy a ticket at the exclusive pre-sale at GoOut. And since the last two editions of PGT were sold out and this year (and the tickets are selling at double speed at the moment), we recommend not to wait too long...
