The line-up for the very first Winter Prague Gothic Treffen, taking place at MeetFactory on 27 February 2027, is almost complete. So, who can you look forward to?
A few weeks ago, we revealed the first three names for Winter Prague Gothic Treffen. Just to refresh your memory: long-time darlings of the Czech audience and electronic veterans Diorama, who will (finally) play their very first show in the Czech Republic – and with a brand-new album, A Substitute for Light, in tow. Then there are Canadian TRAITRS, who have grown into one of the most prominent names in contemporary coldwave/post-punk over the past few years. Following this year’s changes and rescheduled tour dates, they’ll arrive in Prague in February with a fresh lineup and, of course, this year’s album Possessor. The third band already announced are Denmark’s The Foreign Resort, who probably need little introduction to Czech audiences by now. In our book, they’re still one of the most energetic post-punk bands currently touring European clubs and festivals. And after seven years, they too are back with new studio material in the shape of Endurance.
And we’re carrying on with another three strong names.
Turkey’s Ductape are, without much exaggeration, one of the hottest bands on the current darkwave/post-punk scene. Turn up in front of their stage at pretty much any major European festival and chances are you’ll struggle to squeeze into the packed crowd. Over the past few years, Çağla and Furkan have deservedly built a large and fiercely loyal following across Europe and beyond, so it’s hardly surprising that their brand-new album Faded Flowers was one of the most eagerly awaited releases of this autumn. It only came out a few days ago, and so far it looks like we’ve got another damn strong record on our hands.
Ductape - Figures
Born of sweet Paris, Echoberyl – Cecilia Dassonneville and Adriano Iacoangeli – have already managed quite a lot: Amphi Festival, Cold Hearted Festival and shows across Germany, France, Poland and even Brazil. And thanks to WPGT, they’ll finally be making their Czech live debut as well. Expect propulsive synth/darkwave where a cold club-driven pulse meets the sonic influence of old sci-fi and B-movies, topped off by fragile female vocals with a charmingly French accent. It’s exactly this combination that has helped the duo carve out a creative space of their own within the dark scene in a relatively short time. And judging by the steadily growing number of people finding them, that space is only getting bigger.
The final newly announced name comes from closer to home: It Burns. The Prague/Boston minimal darkwave/post-punk duo only formed in 2025, but already caught our attention with their very first track, “Shift to Overdrive”, featured on our compilation Dark Tunes from Czech and Slovak Caves. Since then, they’ve been busy working on new material – including a recent cover of Spittin’ Teeth’s 1980 track “Destruction” – and, almost as an aside, managed to land among the winners of Patriarchy’s remix competition. Plenty of reasons to finally see them live. Which, incidentally, nobody has been able to do yet. It Burns will play their first-ever live show at Winter PGT – their world premiere.
So yes, we already think the line-up is looking pretty damn good. And we’re still not finished. There’s one final name missing – the headliner. But we’ll save that for next time. In the meantime, you can still pick up tickets at the reduced price via GoOut.
